PM holds bilateral talks with Croatian counterpart in New York

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and his Croatian counterpart Andrej Plenkovic held bilateral talks in New York on Wednesday (September 23), focusing on stronger economic ties, trade and investment between Bangladesh and Croatia.

The meeting took place at the UN headquarters on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, Prime Minister’s Assistant Press Secretary KM Nazmul Haque said.

The two leaders discussed expanding economic cooperation and collaboration in areas of mutual interest, with particular emphasis on trade, investment, skilled manpower, education and technology.

They also explored opportunities to broaden cooperation into other promising sectors.

The prime ministers stressed the importance of strengthening commercial and economic links between the two countries while also deepening people-to-people ties.

They also discussed closer cooperation at multilateral forums, including the United Nations, and greater coordination on international issues of common interest, according to officials.
