PM inaugurates DC Conference in Dhaka

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has inaugurated the four-day Deputy Commissioners (DC) Conference in Dhaka on Sunday (May 3).

The opening ceremony was held at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium at around 11:30am.

Officials said the Prime Minister walked from his office at the Secretariat to the venue ahead of the programme, where he was welcomed by people gathered along the roadside who greeted him as he passed.

The conference will continue until May 6, during which 498 proposals from field administration, including divisional commissioners and district administrators, will be discussed, according to the Cabinet Division.

As part of the schedule, courtesy meetings are set with the President at Bangabhaban on May 3, the Speaker at the National Parliament on May 4, and the Chief Justice at the Supreme Court on May 5.
