Prime Minister Tarique Rahman personally went out on the streets of the capital to monitor the post-Eid-ul-Azha cattle waste removal operation and assess the overall cleanliness situation in Dhaka on Friday afternoon.

According to officials, he began his inspection drive around 4pm by driving himself from his residence in Gulshan.

The Prime Minister reportedly visited several key areas of the capital, observing whether waste management activities were being carried out properly and efficiently.

Prime Minister’s Deputy Press Secretary Zahidul Islam Roni said the visit was aimed at ensuring that the city’s post-Eid waste removal process was functioning smoothly.

“He went out to see whether the cattle waste removal process in Dhaka was being carried out properly. He himself drove through important roads of the capital,” he said.

He added that the Prime Minister also followed traffic rules and stopped at signals during the journey.

During the inspection, the convoy reportedly passed through Gulshan-1, Hatirjheel, Rampura, Malibagh, Basabo, Kamalapur, Sayedabad, Jatrabari, Dholaikhal, Narinda, Gulistan, Shahbagh, Elephant Road, Dhaka University area, New Market, Dhanmondi, Mirpur Road, Farmgate, Bijoy Sarani and Mohakhali.

Authorities said the visit was part of an ongoing effort to monitor civic services during the busy post-Eid period, when large amounts of animal waste are generated across the city.
