PM paid final tribute to ex-State Minister Mizanur Rahman Sinha

The funeral of former State Minister for Health and Managing Director of Acme Laboratories Ltd and Group, Mizanur Rahman Sinha, has been held at the South Plaza of the National Parliament in Dhaka.

The janaza was held on Sunday (May 17) at around 11:30am.

The funeral prayer was led by senior Pes Imam Abu Raihan of the National Parliament Secretariat.

Leaders from various political parties, government officials and business figures attended the ceremony. Prayers were offered for the departed soul following the janaza.

According to family sources, Mizanur Rahman Sinha passed away on Friday night (May 15) at a hospital in Singapore at the age of 83.

After the funeral, tributes were paid on behalf of the Prime Minister, followed by floral wreaths from the Speaker of Parliament, cabinet members and other dignitaries present at the ceremony.

Mizanur Rahman Sinha had a long political career. He was elected Member of Parliament from Munshiganj-2 (Louhajang–Tongibari) constituency in both the 7th and 8th National Parliamentary elections in 1996 and 2001 on the BNP ticket.

He also served as State Minister for Health and Family Welfare in the four-party alliance government led by former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia. Later, he held the position of BNP central treasurer and most recently served as convener of the Munshiganj District BNP unit.
