PM presents July Memorial Awards to families of martyrs, injured survivors
Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman presented July Memorial Awards to the families of those martyred and individuals injured during the July-August mass uprising, paying tribute to their sacrifices at the July National Conference 2026 in the capital.
The awards were presented during the conference marking the anniversary of the July-August mass uprising, observed as a commemoration of both mourning and victory, at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center in Agargaon on Saturday (July 4).
Representing the families of the martyrs, Abdur Rob Mia, father of July uprising martyr Miraj, received the memorial award from the prime minister. The awards were also handed over to Ujjal Hossain, brother of martyr Selim, as well as injured July uprising participants Al Miraj and Mohammad Aminul Islam Imon.
The event's master of ceremonies said the recipients accepted the awards on behalf of all affected families and survivors attending the programme.
He added that memorial awards have been prepared for every family of the July martyrs and all those injured during the movement. The commemorative honours will be distributed to the remaining recipients through a scheduled process in the coming days.
