PM returns to Dhaka from China after state visit
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman returned to the country from China on Friday evening, June 26, after completing a state visit. His flight, operated by China Southern Airlines, landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 7:45 pm.
The prime minister was welcomed at the airport by BNP Secretary General and Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, along with cabinet members and senior party leaders.
The prime minister was accompanied by his wife Dr Zubaida Rahman and other delegation members. Earlier, they departed from Beijing at 5:15 pm local time.
On June 21, the prime minister first travelled to Malaysia for a state visit. After attending various programmes there, he departed from Kuala Lumpur International Airport on June 22 afternoon on a special Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight to Dalian, China.
During his China visit, he held a meeting with the Chinese prime minister and attended several important programmes. On the final day of his visit, he also met with the Chinese president on Friday morning.
This was the prime minister's first visit to Malaysia and China since assuming office on February 17 following the BNP's landslide victory in the 13th National Parliamentary Election.
