PM stresses quality education during first visit to Education Ministry
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman visited the Education Ministry on Tuesday (July 28), marking his first visit to the ministry since assuming office.
During the visit to the Education Ministry at the Bangladesh Secretariat, he reviewed the ministry's overall activities and exchanged views with senior officials, heads of various departments and agencies, and experienced education officials working at the field level.
The review meeting featured detailed presentations on the ministry's ongoing activities, various development projects, progress in implementing education policies and administrative effectiveness. The Prime Minister reviewed these activities and provided necessary directives to the officials.
The meeting placed special emphasis on improving the quality of education, ensuring regular classroom attendance of students, effective teaching, up-to-date and continuous training for teachers, expansion of technology-driven education, and strengthening administrative accountability.
During the visit, the Prime Minister held direct discussions with experienced education officials working at the field level. They shared their experiences and opinions on the ground realities, existing challenges and measures needed to improve the quality of education. The Prime Minister listened attentively and stressed the importance of giving due weight to field-level experience and advice in policy-making and implementation.
The Prime Minister said ensuring quality education for every student in the country is one of the government's top priorities. To this end, coordinated initiatives, effective supervision and timely implementation of plans will continue to bring qualitative changes at every level of the education system.
At the end of the visit, the Prime Minister urged ministry officials and staff to work with dedication, professionalism and a service-oriented mindset, and provided necessary directives for the overall development of the education system.
