PM supervises state affairs throughout Eid vacation: Additional Press Secretary
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has continued to supervise government activities even during the Eid-ul-Azha holidays, said Additional Press Secretary to the Prime Minister Atiqur Rahman Rumon. At the same time, he urged the media to practice responsible journalism and not to publish information without verification.
He said these things at a press conference organized by the Prime Minister's Press Wing on the first working day after the Eid holidays on Monday (June 1).
Atiqur Rahman Rumon said, 'While the people of the country were busy celebrating the Eid holidays, the Prime Minister and his team continued to perform government duties.'
He said that the day after Eid, the Prime Minister himself visited different areas of the capital to inspect the Qurbani waste removal activities and immediate action was taken if any mismanagement was noticed.
He said, 'The government is working relentlessly for the development of the country, establishment of good governance and improvement of the quality of citizen services.'
Regarding the media, Additional Press Secretary said, 'The current government is media-friendly and believes in the freedom of the press. However, some online platforms are spreading unverified information, misleading photocards, and fragmented statements and videos, which could create opportunities to create unrest in society.
