PM Tarique Rahman attends inauguration of Bangladesh Solar Expo 2026

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman attended the inaugural ceremony of Bangladesh Solar Expo 2026 as the chief guest on Tuesday.

The event began on Tuesday morning at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre in the capital, with Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Iqbal Hasan Mahmud presiding over the ceremony.

The prime minister’s Deputy Press Secretary, Zahidul Islam Rony, confirmed the development.

The theme of Bangladesh Solar Expo 2026 is “Making Every Inch of Rooftop Count, Increasing Income Through Solar Power.”

Also present on the stage were State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Anindya Islam Amit, Finance Secretary Dr Md Khayeruzzaman Majumder, and Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry Secretary Mirana Mahrook.

Ministers, state ministers, members of parliament, secretaries and senior government officials from various ministries also attended the inaugural ceremony.

The Power Division of the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources and the Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL) have jointly organised the solar expo for the first time.
