PM Tarique Rahman heads to home district Bogura
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has set off for his home district Bogura on his first official visit since assuming office.
He left his residence in Gulshan at 6:10am on Monday (April 20), travelling by road, according to his Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman.
His wife, Zubaida Rahman, is accompanying him on the visit.
During the day-long visit, the prime minister is scheduled to attend a series of development and public welfare programmes. These include the inauguration of the newly constructed Bogura District Bar Association building, the launch of an “e-bail bond” system at the district court, and the unveiling of the Bogura Sadar municipality building.
Later, he will inaugurate a special measles-rubella vaccination campaign at Ziaur Rahman Gram Hospital in Gabtali upazila's Bagbari area. He is also set to distribute family cards at Shaheed Zia Degree College ground and launch canal excavation work in Nasipur.
As part of his itinerary, Tarique Rahman will visit his ancestral home in Bagbari.
In the afternoon, he will address a public rally at Altafunnessa Playground as the chief guest at an event organised by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party. He will also inaugurate the new building of Bogura Press Club and reconstruction work of Baitur Rahman Central Mosque.
The prime minister is expected to return to Dhaka by road later in the night.
