PM Tarique Rahman hosts dinner for simultaneous movement allies

Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman attended a dinner and exchange-of-views meeting at the state guest house Jamuna in honor of the top leaders of the political parties allied in the simultaneous movement. This marks his first formal meeting with the allied parties since the formation of the BNP-led government.

The invited guests began arriving a bit ahead of the scheduled time for the event held on Monday evening (July 20). According to BNP party sources, the Prime Minister arrived at Jamuna at 7:35pm, exchanged greetings with the allied leaders, and inquired about the meeting.

He was accompanied by BNP Secretary General and Local Government Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Home Minister Salah Uddin Ahmed, and members of the party's standing committee.

Party sources claim that regular communication with the allied parties was not possible following the national parliamentary election due to various engagements, which created a distance with a few allied parties. This dinner and exchange meeting was organized to further strengthen that relationship.

Among the participating leaders were Bangladesh Revolutionary Workers Party President Saiful Huque, Ganosamhati Andolon Chief Coordinator Zonayed Saki, Gono Odhikar Parishad President Nurul Haque Nur, NDM Chairman Bobby Hajjaj, Jatiya Party (Zafar) Chairman Barrister Mostafa Jamal Haider, Bhasani Janashakti Party Chairman Rafiqul Islam Bablu news, Gono Forum Acting President Advocate Subrata Chowdhury, General Secretary Dr. Mizanur Rahman, and a faction of JAGPA President Khandaker Lutfur Rahman.

However, two important allies of the BNP, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Bangladesh and Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD), did not attend the dinner.
