PM Tarique Rahman joins 'Revenue Conference 2026'

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has joined the 'Revenue Conference 2026' organised at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre in the capital.

He arrived at the conference venue on Tuesday morning, August 18. Prime Minister's Deputy Press Secretary-1 Jahidul Islam Rony confirmed his participation in the conference.

The conference has been organised jointly by the Internal Resources Division of the Ministry of Finance and the National Board of Revenue (NBR). Senior officials of NBR, along with officers involved in revenue management, are participating in the event.

The conference is expected to discuss various strategies to increase revenue collection in the country. Emphasis will also be given to making tax administration more effective and modern, as well as identifying and resolving existing problems in revenue collection.

The conference will also focus on increasing revenue collection to ensure the necessary funding for the country's economic activities and development programmes. Discussions will also be held on simplifying taxpayer services and enhancing the effectiveness of revenue administration, according to the concerned officials.
