Prime Minister Tarique Rahman left Dhaka for Feni on Thursday morning (October 1) for a daylong visit, his first trip to the district since taking office.

His motorcade departed his Gulshan residence at around 8:36am for Parshuram, where he is scheduled to inaugurate the rehabilitation of the Muhuri-Kohua Flood Control, Drainage and Irrigation Project (Phase I) at the Kheyaghat-Muhuri Bridge area around 12:30pm.

The prime minister will then attend several programmes in Fulgazi, including a tree-planting initiative and the inauguration of electricity supply to the national grid from a rooftop solar power system installed at the district council dak bungalow.

According to the official itinerary, he will also attend a programme at Fulgazi Government Pilot High School in the afternoon, where Family Cards and Farmer Cards will be distributed. Honorariums will also be provided to imams, muezzins, khadims and others working at various religious institutions.

Tarique Rahman is also scheduled to inaugurate the second-phase pilot programme of the Farmer Card initiative, which includes card distribution and financial assistance for farmers.

The prime minister is scheduled to return to Dhaka by road in the late afternoon after completing his engagements. The Feni visit was initially scheduled for September 17 but was later postponed and rescheduled for October 1.
