PM Tarique Rahman returns home

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman returned home on Sunday morning (September 27) after a five-day visit to New York, where he attended the 81st session of the UN General Assembly and held a series of high-level bilateral meetings.

An Emirates flight carrying the prime minister and his delegation landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 8:21am.

Tarique left New York for Dhaka around 11:30pm (local time) on September 25 after delivering his first address to the UN General Assembly’s general debate and completing a series of high-level engagements.

During the visit, the prime minister took part in 30 official programmes, including bilateral meetings with representatives of 11 countries, according to PM’s Adviser and Press Secretary Mahdi Amin.

The discussions focused on Bangladesh’s national interests, trade and investment, manpower exports, energy security, regional cooperation, the Rohingya crisis, health, climate change and international peace.
