A memorial ceremony honouring those killed in the July 2024 Mass Uprising will be held in the capital today (July 4), with Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman set to attend as the chief guest.

The programme will begin at 10:00am at the China Friendship Conference Centre in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, according to the BNP Media Cell.

The event has been jointly organised by the 'July 24 Shaheed Paribar Society' and 'Amra July Joddha' as part of the observance marking the second anniversary of '36 July' and commemorating those who lost their lives during the mass uprising.

Organisers said family members of the martyrs, injured protesters, political leaders, civil society representatives and invited guests are expected to attend the memorial.

Meanwhile, as part of the nine-day programme marking the second anniversary of the July Mass Uprising, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is also scheduled to attend a student rally at the Central Shaheed Minar on August 3, where he will again be present as the chief guest.
