PM to inaugurate book fair, hand over Ekushey Padak on Feb 26

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will inaugurate the Amar Ekushey Book Fair and hand over the Ekushey Padak on the same day, February 26. He will present the Ekushey Padak in the morning and declare the book fair open at the Bangla Academy premises in the afternoon.

Culture Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury shared this information with journalists on Saturday, February 21.

The minister said the Prime Minister will hand over the Ekushey Padak to eminent personalities in recognition of their significant contributions in various fields at a ceremony in the capital on the morning of February 26. Later in the afternoon, he will attend the formal inauguration ceremony of the book fair at the Bangla Academy premises as the chief guest and declare the fair open.

Authorities concerned have said necessary preparations for both events have already been completed.

It has been learned that the government has fully waived stall rents for publishing houses participating in this year's book fair.
