PM to visit Chandpur on May 16

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is scheduled to officiavisit Chandpur on May 16.

District BNP General Secretary and Parishad Administrator Advocate Salim Ullah Selim confirmed the development on Sunday (May 3).

Preparations are underway ahead of the visit, with local leaders inspecting potential venues, holding coordination meetings and stepping up publicity activities.

According to Chattogram-3 constituency MP and district BNP president Sheikh Farid Ahmed Manik, the Prime Minister is expected to inaugurate several development initiatives during the visit, including a canal excavation project, a family card distribution programme, and the foundation of a science and technology university and Chandpur Medical College.

He said the Prime Minister will also attend a civic reception and a large public rally.

The proposed venue for the rally is Chandpur Stadium, though final approval is pending, according to party sources.

Officials said preparations have been intensified across the district ahead of the visit.
