PM to visit Cox's Bazar on June 14

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is scheduled to visit Cox's Bazar for a two-day trip on June 14. During the visit, he will attend multiple development programmes in Pekua and Chakaria upazilas.

The information was confirmed by Safwanul Karim, press secretary to Home Minister and MP for Cox's Bazar-2 (Chakaria-Pekua) constituency Salahuddin Ahmed.

Senior BNP leaders are expected to accompany the prime minister during various programmes of the visit.

According to the schedule, on June 14 at 11:00 am, the prime minister will inaugurate a tree plantation programme and visit Dulahazara Safari Park in Chakaria. He will then leave for Pekua to pay tribute at the grave of Wasim, a martyr of the anti-discrimination student movement.

Later, he will unveil the foundation stone of Pekua municipality and attend a local programme. In the afternoon, he will address a public rally at the Chakaria bus terminal ground as the chief guest.

The prime minister will stay overnight in Cox's Bazar and return to Dhaka the following day after exchanging views with local dignitaries.
