PM to visit Jashore on April 27
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will visit Jashore on April 27 to inaugurate the canal excavation program. Water Resources Minister Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anee informed reporters after a meeting with the Prime Minister at the Secretariat on Sunday (April 19).
The minister said that a detailed discussion was held with the Prime Minister on the 180-day plan of the Water Resources Ministry and its implementation. The State Minister and relevant experts were present at the meeting.
He said that the government is preparing with utmost importance on what kind of steps can be taken in advance to deal with the upcoming monsoon and possible floods. In addition, plans have also been made on how to start work quickly in river erosion-prone areas.
The Water Resources Minister also said that the government is preparing to resolve waterlogging during the monsoon. However, although it is not possible to resolve waterlogging in all areas in a short time, the government has sincerity, interest and initiative in this regard.
