Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has called on newspaper editors to present a balanced picture of the government's work, urging them to highlight positive initiatives alongside constructive criticism. He made the remarks during a meeting with leaders of the National Editors Council at the Prime Minister's Office at the Secretariat on Monday (July 27).

He also sought the editors' cooperation in formulating a policy framework for independent media and journalists, which the government is currently working on, according to a press release.

The National Editors Council delegation was led by its Convener and Jaijaidin Editor Shafik Rehman and Joint Convener and Amar Desh Editor Mahmudur Rahman.

Other members of the delegation included Protidiner Bangladesh Editor Maruf Kamal Khan, Naya Diganta Editor Salahuddin Muhammad Babar, Jugantor Editor Abdul Hye Sikder, Jatiya Press Club President Hasan Hafiz, Waadaa Editor Shafiqul Alam and Manabkantha Editor Shahidul Islam.
