PM vows to build humane state ensuring justice for all
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has pledged to build a humane state where every citizen will have access to justice, regardless of financial condition.
Speaking at the Legal Aid Day event in the capital, the prime minister said no one should be deprived of justice due to a lack of money on Tuesday (April 28).
He said that justice should not be only in the law books, but should become a reality in the lives of every person.
The Prime Minister said that justice becomes meaningful only when the law is not applied mechanically to people; rather, it takes the form of a deep moral commitment to protect their dignity and ensure their rights. Since justice is a constitutional right of every person, the government will provide all possible legal aid so that every person in the state can exercise that right.
He said that delay in justice means denial of justice. Keeping this reality in mind, initiatives have been taken to resolve disputes before the case.
