PM wants to form an 'expected Bangladesh'
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has said that he prayed to Allah during Eid-ul-Fitr for the formation of an “expected Bangladesh.”
Speaking to reporters after exchanging Eid greetings with people from all walks of life at the state guest house Jamuna on Saturday (March 21), he said the government is committed to building the nation that the people aspire for.
He paid tribute to the martyrs of 1971 and 1924 and called for unity and cooperation across political lines to realize the country’s goals.
The event was attended by diplomats, academics, politicians, and citizens, with the Prime Minister’s spouse, Zubaida Rahman, also present. Large crowds gathered at Jamuna ahead of the scheduled time to meet the Prime Minister.
Earlier, President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Tarek Rahman attended the main Eid congregation at the National Eidgah Ground at 8:30am, where thousands of worshippers participated.
