PMO to brief media today on Tarique Rahman’s UNGA visit

The Prime Minister’s Office will hold a press conference Wednesday to brief the media on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s participation in the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly and his recent New York visit.

The briefing is scheduled for 3:30pm at the Karobi Hall of the Prime Minister’s Office in Tejgaon, Deputy Press Secretary Hasan Shiplu said.

The press conference will cover the prime minister’s engagements during his UNGA visit, including his meetings with world leaders and other high-level interactions in New York.

Tarique Rahman addressed the General Debate of the 81st UNGA on September 24 and held a series of bilateral and multilateral meetings during the visit.

Prime Minister’s Adviser and PMO spokesperson Mahdi Amin, Press Secretary and PMO spokesperson Saleh Shibly, and Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman are scheduled to speak at the briefing.

During the New York visit, the prime minister held 30 official engagements, including 11 bilateral meetings, with discussions covering Bangladesh’s national interests, trade and investment, manpower exports, energy security, the Rohingya crisis, health, climate change and international peace.
