PM's press secretary Ihsanul Karim no more
Ihsanul Karim, the press secretary of Prime Minister, passed away. He breathed his last at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital on Sunday (March 10) evening.
Ihsanul Karim, popularly known as Ihsanul Karim Helal, earlier served as the President's Press Secretary.
In 1972, Ihsanul Karim started his career as a reporter for Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS). After that, he held various positions in the news agency. From 1997 to 2001, Ihsanul Karim also served as the bureau chief of the organization in New Delhi, India.
Apart from this, he worked as a Bangladesh Correspondent in various newspapers including the international media BBC, India's PTI, The Statesman and India Today.
Ihsanul Karim retired on February 12, 2013, after playing the role of Chief Editor and Managing Director at BSS for four years.
On May 20, 2013, the Public Administration Ministry appointed him as the press secretary of former President Abdul Hamid. He served this duty till June 2015.
On June 15, 2015, Ihsanul Karim was appointed as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's press secretary. Since then he was serving in this position.
