Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's visit to Feni has been postponed. The Prime Minister was scheduled to visit Parashuram and Fulgazi upazilas of the district on September 17.

Feni Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mahbubul Karim confirmed the information to Dhaka Post around 1pm on Sunday, September 13.

He said the Prime Minister's Office informed him this morning that the September 17 visit had been postponed. October 1 has been set as the possible time for the visit.

Meanwhile, although the visit has been postponed, extensive preparations are continuing in Feni's Parashuram and Fulgazi to welcome the Prime Minister. During the visit, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the 'Muhuri-Kahua Flood Control Project', recently approved by ECNEC at a cost of Tk 1,542 crore, in Parashuram.

Once this project is implemented, the long-standing flooding and waterlogging in vast areas along the river banks will be resolved.
