Politics at risk if criminal activities continue: Law Minister
Calling on politicians to turn away from the path of political corruption, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman has warned that if they continue on this path, the doors to politics will be closed forever.
He made these remarks as the chief guest at a discussion titled 'Thoughts of Jhenaidah residents for socio-economic development' at Johan Dream Valley Park in Jhenaidah on Sunday night (March 22). The meeting was organized by the Jhenaidah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Addressing BNP leaders and activists, the minister said that none of those involved with the owners of black money will be spared. The accused will be brought to justice in public, or they will be expelled from the party.
He also said that a 'purification drive' will be conducted within the party soon.
Highlighting the government's strict stance on agriculture and environmental protection, the Law Minister said that the 'Farmer Card' distribution program will start from the next Pahela Baishakh. In addition, the local administration has been instructed to take strict measures to stop cutting the topsoil of agricultural land and using it for brick kilns.
He said that cutting soil by destroying agricultural land will not be tolerated in any way. If necessary, the issue of using river soil as an alternative will be considered.
