Disruption has occurred in the electricity flow of the national grid of Dhaka-Chattogram. Electricity went out suddenly due to this incident on Tuesday (October 27) noon. ICT and Operation Director of Dhaka Power Distribution Authority Rabiul Hasan has confirmed the matter.

Due to the grid problem, various areas including Bhulta, Haripur, Siddhirganj, Gulshan, Rampura, Motijheel of eastern Dhaka and part of Chattogram have become power disconnected.

In a notice of Power Grid Bangladesh PLC it has been said that electricity has been disconnected in eastern Dhaka and part of Chattogram unexpectedly at 12:43pm.

An official of the Power Division has informed that electricity also went out at the Secretariat around 1pm. Customers of various ends of the capital have informed about the absence of electricity.

Clear information about the cause of the disruption is not available yet. Responsible persons of the public relations division of Bangladesh Power Development Board (PDB) have said that the cause of the power disruption is not known yet.

However, according to PDB sources, electricity supply is being disrupted as the Meghnaghat-Haripur national power grid has become out of order. On the other hand, DPDC has not yet been able to confirm exactly in which grid the disruption has occurred. It is being assumed that this incident has occurred in the Dhanmondi-Ulon grid.

Specific information about when electricity will be fully normal is not known yet. The concerned authorities are monitoring the situation.
