Pranay Verma meets Local Government Minister

High Commissioner of India Pranay Verma paid a courtesy call on Bangladeshi Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.

The meeting was held on Tuesday (March 3).

Strengthening local government structures and enhancing cooperation in rural development activities were identified as common priorities of the two countries. To this end, they reviewed various issues of mutual interest.

During the discussion, they agreed to further strengthen bilateral engagement in areas such as rural economy, agricultural cooperatives and financial empowerment at the grassroots level.

High Commissioner Pranay Verma said that India-Bangladesh relations are built on people-to-people ties. India is ready to work with Bangladesh with a positive, constructive and forward-looking approach to expand people-centric cooperation in all areas based on mutual interest and welfare.
