The President has accepted the resignation of Hill Tracts Affairs Minister Dipen Dewan. The Cabinet Division issued a notification in this regard on Monday, June 1. The notification, signed by Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Gani, stated that the resignation of Dipen Dewan, minister for the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs, has been accepted by the President and will take effect immediately. Earlier today, Dipen Dewan submitted his resignation letter to the Prime Minister. In the letter, he stated that he has been suffering from various physical complications since taking office, which has made it difficult for him to perform regular administrative duties. Given his current health condition, he sought relief from his position.

পার্বত্য চট্টগ্রামবিষয়ক মন্ত্রী দীপেন দেওয়ানের পদত্যাগপত্র গৃহীত হয়েছে। সোমবার (১ জুন) মন্ত্রিপরিষদ বিভাগ এ বিষয়ে প্রজ্ঞাপন জারি করেছে। মন্ত্রিপরিষদ সচিব নাসিমুল গনি স্বাক্ষরিত প্রজ্ঞাপনে বলা হয়, পার্বত্য চট্টগ্রামবিষয়ক মন্ত্রণালয়ের মন্ত্রী দীপেন দেওয়ানের পদত্যাগপত্র রাষ্ট্রপতি কর্তৃক গৃহীত হয়েছে এবং তা অবিলম্বে কার্যকর হবে। এর আগে আজ দীপেন দেওয়ান প্রধানমন্ত্রী বরাবর পাঠানো চিঠিতে পদত্যাগের আবেদন করেন। চিঠিতে তিনি জানান, দায়িত্ব গ্রহণের পর থেকে নানা শারীরিক জটিলতায় ভুগছেন তিনি। এর ফলে মন্ত্রণালয়ের নিয়মিত কাজ ও প্রশাসনিক দায়িত্ব পালনে সমস্যা হচ্ছে। বর্তমান শারীরিক অবস্থায় দায়িত্ব পালন অব্যাহত রাখা কষ্টসাধ্য হয়ে পড়ায় তিনি পদ থেকে অব্যাহতি চেয়েছেন।
