President accepts Justice Rezaul Hasan's resignation
President has accepted the resignation of Supreme Court High Court Division Justice Md Rezaul Hasan, who faced allegations of corruption.
The information was announced in a notification issued by the Ministry of Law on Monday, April 13.
According to the notification, Justice Md Rezaul Hasan submitted his resignation through a signed letter in accordance with Article 96 of the constitution. The president subsequently accepted his resignation.
Earlier, on March 30, he had submitted his resignation, which was later sent to the president and approved.
Meanwhile, allegations of corruption, misconduct and abuse of power had been brought against him before the Supreme Judicial Council.
The complainant alleged that he had shown biased behaviour in two separate company cases. In one case, a verdict was delivered by including the name of a senior lawyer despite his absence, which was later overturned by the Appellate Division.
In another case, it was alleged that the applicant's wife's shares were cancelled without making her a party to the case.
