President, CA pay homage to martyred intellectuals

President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus paid deep tribute to the nation’s martyred intellectuals on the occasion of Martyred Intellectuals Day.

On Sunday morning (December 14), President Shahabuddin laid a wreath at the Martyred Intellectuals Memorial in Mirpur. At 7:20am, Chief Adviser Dr. Yunus also placed a wreath, paying homage to the fallen intellectuals.

After the wreath-laying, both the President and the Chief Adviser stood in silence for a while to honour the memory of the martyrs. A smart contingent of the Bangladesh Armed Forces rendered a state salute, while a mournful tune was played on the bugle.

Following the ceremony, the President and the Chief Adviser separately exchanged greetings with members of the Advisory Council, senior civil and military officials, war-wounded freedom fighters, and invited guests.
