President congratulates Bangladesh on winning UNGA presidency

President Md Sahabuddin has expressed satisfaction and pride over the election of Bangladesh's nominated candidate as President of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

In a congratulatory message on Wednesday, June 3, the president extended his sincere greetings and congratulations to the current government, the elected candidate Dr Khalilur Rahman, the country's diplomats, and people from all walks of life on this significant achievement.

The president said this success is a recognition of Bangladesh's prestige, acceptability and leadership capability on the international stage. He also expressed gratitude to the UN member states for their trust and support for Bangladesh.

The president expressed hope that Bangladesh's representation at the highest post of the UNGA will further brighten the country's image globally and strengthen Bangladesh's role on various important international issues.

He further said this achievement will be considered an important milestone in the continuity of the country's diplomatic successes.
