President summons first session of 13th parliament on March 12

President of the People's Republic of Bangladesh Md Sahabuddin has summoned the first session of the 13th National Parliament on March 12.

The information was shared in a press release issued on Monday signed by Md Emadul Haque, Director (Deputy Secretary) of the Public Relations Branch-1 of the National Parliament Secretariat.

The release stated that the session will be held at 11 am on Thursday, March 12, 2026, in the Parliament Chamber of the National Parliament building.

The President has exercised his power to summon the session under Article 72(1) of the constitution.

Along with the election of the new Speaker and Deputy Speaker, other preliminary proceedings of the first meeting will be completed in this session.
