President Mohammed Sahabuddin and his wife Rebeka Sultana will host Eid greetings from 11:00am to 11:30am at Bangabhaban on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. The President will attend the Eid prayers at the national Eidgah in Dhaka at 8:30am on Saturday (March 21). Following the ceremony, he will deliver an Eid message to the nation from the Bangabhaban Credential Hall. The programme will include senior politicians, judges, writers, poets, journalists, educators, intellectuals, as well as civilian and military officials. Around 8,000 guests have been invited, with traditional festive meals arranged for attendees. After the official program, the President will spend time with his family at Bangabhaban.

পবিত্র ঈদুল ফিতর উপলক্ষে বঙ্গভবনে সর্বস্তরের মানুষের সঙ্গে শুভেচ্ছা বিনিময় করবেন রাষ্ট্রপতি মো. সাহাবুদ্দিন ও তার স্ত্রী রেবেকা সুলতানা। শনিবার মুসলমানদের প্রধান ধর্মীয় উৎসব ঈদুল ফিতর উদযাপিত হবে। এ দিন রাষ্ট্রপতি সকাল সাড়ে আটটায় রাজধানীর জাতীয় ঈদগাহ প্রাঙ্গণে ঈদের নামাজ আদায় করবেন। বঙ্গভবনের এক জ্যেষ্ঠ কর্মকর্তা জানান, বেলা এগারোটা থেকে সাড়ে এগারোটা পর্যন্ত রাষ্ট্রপতি বঙ্গভবনে সর্বস্তরের মানুষের সঙ্গে ঈদের শুভেচ্ছা বিনিময় করবেন। পরে বঙ্গভবনের ক্রেডেনশিয়াল হলে গণমাধ্যমের মাধ্যমে দেশবাসীর উদ্দেশে ঈদের শুভেচ্ছা বার্তা দেবেন তিনি। রাষ্ট্রপতি বিশিষ্ট ব্যক্তি, জ্যেষ্ঠ রাজনীতিবিদ, বিচারক, কবি, সাহিত্যিক, লেখক, সাংবাদিক, শিক্ষক, বুদ্ধিজীবীসহ বেসামরিক ও সামরিক কর্মকর্তাদের সঙ্গে শুভেচ্ছা বিনিময় করবেন। এ আয়োজনের সঙ্গে সংশ্লিষ্ট এক কর্মকর্তা জানান, ঈদুল ফিতর উপলক্ষে বঙ্গভবনে প্রায় আট হাজার অতিথিকে আমন্ত্রণ জানানো হয়েছে। আগত অতিথিদের জন্য ঐতিহ্যবাহী বিভিন্ন খাবারের আয়োজন থাকবে। অনুষ্ঠান শেষে রাষ্ট্রপতি বঙ্গভবনে পরিবারের সদস্যদের সঙ্গে সময় কাটাবেন।
