Presidential election vote count to be telecast live on BTV: CEC

The vote count of the presidential election will be telecast live on Bangladesh Television (BTV), said Chief Election Commissioner A M M Nasir Uddin. He briefed reporters on Wednesday afternoon at the Election Commission building to outline the final preparations for the election.

The Chief Election Commissioner said the President, the Speaker and the Prime Minister—these three are the voters in this election. Therefore, it is set to be a high-profile election. Regarding the results, he said the decision given by the Chief Election Commissioner after counting will be considered the final outcome. The results will be declared immediately after counting.

Regarding the live telecast, A M M Nasir Uddin said the voting scenes of the Speaker and the Prime Minister will be telecast live on BTV. The broadcast will then be paused and resumed when counting begins. He said the vote count will also be broadcast live.

The Chief Election Commissioner further said no one will be allowed to campaign in the presence of the Election Commission. He also said all preparations have been taken to ensure the smooth and fair conduct of this historic election, and there is no shortfall.
