A press briefing on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s first-day activities in New York, including his participation in the opening session of the general debate of the 81st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), was scheduled for this evening (September 23). The briefing was set for 7:00pm (New York time) at the Bangladesh Permanent Mission to the United Nations, according to Prime Minister’s Deputy Press Secretary Jahidul Islam Rony. Members of the prime minister’s entourage, the high-level delegation and Press Wing officials were expected to attend and brief journalists on his bilateral meetings, high-level engagements and other activities during his first day in New York. জাতিসংঘ সাধারণ পরিষদের (ইউএনজিএ) ৮১তম অধিবেশনের সাধারণ বিতর্কের উদ্বোধনী পর্বে যোগদানসহ প্রধানমন্ত্রী তারেক রহমানের নিউইয়র্ক সফরের প্রথম দিনের সার্বিক কার্যক্রম তুলে ধরতে আজ বুধবার সন্ধ্যায় (২৩ সেপ্টেম্বর) এক সংবাদ সম্মেলনের আয়োজন করা হয়েছে।
 
প্রধানমন্ত্রীর উপ-প্রেস সচিব জাহিদুল ইসলাম রনি এ তথ্য জানান।
 
তিনি জানান, নিউইয়র্কের স্থানীয় সময় মঙ্গলবার সন্ধ্যা ৭টায় (বাংলাদেশ সময় বুধবার ভোর ৫টা) জাতিসংঘে বাংলাদেশের স্থায়ী মিশনে এই সংবাদ সম্মেলন অনুষ্ঠিত হবে।
 
সংবাদ সম্মেলনে প্রধানমন্ত্রীর সফরসঙ্গী, উচ্চপর্যায়ের প্রতিনিধি দল এবং প্রেস উইংয়ের কর্মকর্তারা উপস্থিত থাকবেন। সেখানে পৌঁছানোর পর প্রথম দিনে প্রধানমন্ত্রীর বিভিন্ন দ্বিপক্ষীয় বৈঠক, উচ্চপর্যায়ের অধিবেশনে অংশগ্রহণ ও সার্বিক ব্যস্ততার বিস্তারিত তথ্য সাংবাদিকদের সামনে উপস্থাপন করা হবে।
