The government has published the results of the Primary Scholarship Examination-2025, with a total of 79,246 students securing scholarships nationwide. Of them, 32,965 received Talent Pool scholarships, while 46,281 were awarded General scholarships.

The results were officially announced at a press conference held at the International Mother Language Institute in Dhaka on Sunday (July 12).

Education and Primary & Mass Education Adviser A.N.M. Ehsanul Haque Milan unveiled the results in the presence of State Minister Bobby Hajjaj, Director General of the Directorate of Primary Education Shahina Ferdousi and other senior officials.

According to the Directorate of Primary Education (DPE), students and guardians can access the results online through the IPEMIS portal as well as via SMS.

Although the scholarship policy allocated 82,500 scholarships—including 33,000 Talent Pool and 49,500 General scholarships—the final results saw 79,246 students selected.

Among the Talent Pool recipients, 26,375 are from government primary schools and 6,590 from non-government institutions. In the General category, 36,420 students are from government schools, while 9,861 are from non-government schools.

Girls outperformed boys in the overall scholarship list. Of the total recipients, 43,354 (54.71%) are girls, while 35,982 (45.29%) are boys.

This year's scholarship examination involved 78,810 educational institutions, including 65,605 government and 13,205 non-government primary schools. More than 640,000 students registered for the examination, while 483,759 ultimately took part.

The examination was held between April 15 and 18 across the country, except in the three hill districts of Rangamati, Khagrachhari and Bandarban, where it was conducted under a separate schedule from April 17 to 20.

The results come amid recent controversy after scholarship results from several districts were inadvertently published online ahead of the official announcement. Following the incident, a DPE assistant maintenance officer was temporarily suspended, while an investigation committee was formed to determine the cause of the premature disclosure.
