Primary students receive 100% textbooks on first day of 2026: Adviser

Primary and Mass Education Adviser Professor Bidhan Ranjan Roy Poddar has said that all primary school students in Bangladesh received their textbooks on the very first day of 2026.

Speaking after inaugurating a book distribution programme at Abul Bashar Government Primary School in the capital's Agargaon on Thursday (January 1), he highlighted the improved quality of this year’s textbooks compared to previous editions.

The government has printed textbooks worth a total of Tk 30 crore for primary and secondary levels, a move the adviser called a major achievement of the interim administration.
