Primary students to get clothes, shoes, bags from July-August
From the current July-August, free school uniforms, shoes, socks and school bags will be provided to government primary school students, said State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Bobby Hajjaj.
He also said that a total of more than 0.35 million students will be brought under this facility under the pilot project. However, the program will be completed in several phases.
The State Minister for Primary and Mass Education gave this information after a meeting at the Ministry of Textiles and Jute at the Secretariat on Monday (June 8).
The State Minister said that the pilot project will start by distributing these materials to at least 1 lakh students in the first phase. After that, the materials will be delivered to the remaining students in phases. The target has been set to complete the entire work of the pilot project by next December. In total, more than 25,000 primary schools will be covered by this pilot project.
Bobby Hajjaj said that based on the experience and results of the pilot project, full-scale distribution of materials may start in all government primary schools in the country from next January. The state minister also said that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman may inaugurate the program.
State Minister for Local Government Mir Shahe Alam and State Minister for Textiles and Jute Md.Shariful Alam were present at the event, among others.
