Prime Minister checks on family of Ramisa on Eid Day
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has reached out to the family of eight-year-old Ramisa, who was raped and murdered in the capital’s Pallabi area earlier this month, reaffirming the government’s commitment to ensuring justice in the brutal case.
On the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, the Prime Minister’s adviser and senior joint secretary general of Bangladesh Nationalist Party, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, visited Ramisa’s family home in Pallabi on the Prime Minister’s instruction.
During the visit, Rizvi spoke with the victim’s parents and sister, inquiring about their condition and offering assurances of government support.
Speaking after the meeting, the Prime Minister’s adviser said the government remains determined to ensure the highest possible punishment for those responsible for the killing of the child.
He also announced that the Prime Minister has taken responsibility for the education of Ramisa’s elder sister, Raisa, and assured the family that the government would continue to stand beside them in every circumstance.
Ramisa was allegedly raped and brutally murdered in Pallabi on May 19, triggering widespread outrage and calls for swift justice. Following the incident, police arrested a man identified as Sohel Rana along with his wife in connection with the case. Both are currently in jail pending further legal proceedings.
