Prime Minister visits parents' graves
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman visited the graves of martyred President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. He visited the graves of his late parents along with senior party leaders at Zia Udyan in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital on Thursday (May 28).
Earlier, the main Eid congregation was attended by President Md. Shahabuddin, cabinet members, state ministers, members of parliament, judges of the Supreme Court and High Court divisions, administrators of Dhaka South City Corporation, various political leaders, senior government officials, diplomats from various Muslim countries and worshippers from various classes and professions.
Extensive preparations were made for the Eid congregation at the National Eidgah Maidan under the management of Dhaka South City Corporation. Separate entrances, special arrangements for ablution and prayers were made for women. In addition, adequate ablution facilities and medical team facilities were also ensured.
This year's main Eid congregation was attended by about 35,000 worshippers, including 3,500 women, who were accommodated separately. There was also a special VIP arrangement for important people.
