Principal Secretary to Chief Advisor applies for resignation

Principal Secretary to Chief Advisor M Siraj Uddin Mia has applied to step down from his job. He formally submitted his resignation to the Chief Advisor on Monday February 16.

Earlier, he was appointed as Principal Secretary to the Chief Advisor on a two-year contract in October 2024. In his resignation letter, Siraj Uddin mentioned his inability to serve the remaining term.

He was given the additional responsibility of Cabinet Secretary on February 14. However, today, Senior Secretary to the Ministry of Home Affairs Nasimul Gani was appointed as Cabinet Secretary.

After the results of the 13th National Parliament election were announced on Saturday, a notification was issued canceling the contract of Sheikh Abdur Rashid, who was in charge of the Cabinet Secretary. Abdur Rashid said in this regard that he had resigned earlier; but due to the election, it was not accepted at that time. Now that order has come into effect.
