Prisoner dies after falling ill at Central Jail

A prisoner named Md Parash, 35, has died after falling ill at the Central Jail of Keraniganj of Dhaka. After falling ill he was taken quickly to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the doctor on duty declared him dead.

Parash suddenly fell ill at the Central Jail around 5pm on Saturday (September 26). Later the jail guards took him to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Jail guard Atiar Sheikh informed that Parash was taken to the hospital after suddenly falling ill at the jail. There the doctor declared him dead.

He informed that Parash was a prisoner of the Central Jail. His prisoner number is 211/A and the name of his father is Md Liakat. However in which case he was in the jail could not be known immediately.

Inspector Habibur Rahman, in-charge of the police camp of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, informed that the body has been kept at the morgue of the hospital for post-mortem. The matter has been informed to the jail authorities.

He said the inquest report will be prepared in the presence of the executive magistrate and the body will be handed over to the family after finishing the post-mortem.
