The full report of the investigation committee formed into the deaths of six newborns at the capital's Ad-Din Hospital is scheduled to be submitted today.

This information was given after a high-level meeting held at the Health Ministry on Monday (June 1) with investigation-related officials and the Attorney General. It was also informed at the time that further legal action will be taken based on the reports of separate investigation committees of the Health Ministry and the Directorate General of Health Services.

After the meeting, Health Minister Sardar Sakhawat Hossain Bakul said that the Attorney General has been informed about the steps taken by the ministry to investigate the incident. Further activities will be conducted according to his legal advice.

He also said that initiatives have been taken to record statements from the affected mothers to make the investigation more realistic and accurate. Although there was some delay in forming the Directorate General of Health Services' investigation committee due to the Eid holidays, it has been finalized and the report will be submitted soon.

On the other hand, Attorney General Ruhul Quddus Kajal said, there have been discussions on ensuring that necessary legal measures are taken by impartially assessing if someone is negligent or responsible. Special importance is being given to ensuring that no person or organization can use the loopholes in the law to avoid liability.

He also said that Deputy Attorney General Al Faisal Siddiqui has been included in the investigation committee. It is expected that the investigation report will be submitted within the stipulated time.

In this regard, the government has informed that action will be taken against anyone who is found to be negligent or dereliction of duty during the investigation. At the same time, it has been reiterated that a strict stance will be taken to prevent such incidents in the future.
