Professor Abdullah Abu Sayeed, founder of the World Literature Center, met with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. The meeting took place at the Prime Minister's Office at the Secretariat on Thursday afternoon (April 16). Additional Press Secretary to the Prime Minister Atiqur Rahman Rumon said that Professor Abdullah Abu Sayeed discussed with the Prime Minister the issue of reading books among students in schools. The government will work jointly with the World Literature Center to instill the habit of reading books in students. This program will be run at the primary, secondary and higher secondary levels. Prime Minister's Information and Broadcasting Ministry Advisor Zahed Ur Rahman was present during the meeting.

প্রধানমন্ত্রী তারেক রহমানের সঙ্গে সাক্ষাৎ করেছেন বিশ্বসাহিত্য কেন্দ্রের প্রতিষ্ঠাতা অধ্যাপক আবদুল্লাহ আবু সায়ীদ। আজ বৃহস্পতিবার দুপুরে সচিবালয়ে প্রধানমন্ত্রীর দপ্তরে এই সাক্ষাৎ হয়। প্রধানমন্ত্রীর অতিরিক্ত প্রেস সচিব আতিকুর রহমান রুমন বলেন, অধ্যাপক আবদুল্লাহ আবু সায়ীদ স্কুলে শিক্ষার্থীদের মধ্যে বই পড়ার বিষয়ে প্রধানমন্ত্রীর সঙ্গে আলোচনা করেছেন। শিক্ষার্থীদের বই পড়ার অভ্যাস গড়ে তুলতে বিশ্বসাহিত্য কেন্দ্রের সঙ্গে সরকার যৌথভাবে কাজ করবে। এই কর্মসূচি পরিচালিত হবে প্রাথমিক, মাধ্যমিক ও উচ্চমাধ্যমিক স্তরে। সাক্ষাতের সময় উপস্থিত ছিলেন প্রধানমন্ত্রীর তথ্য ও সম্প্রচার মন্ত্রণালয়বিষয়ক উপদেষ্টা জাহেদ উর রহমান।
