PSC gets 3 new members

The government has appointed three new members to the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC), raising the total number of commission members from 15 to 18.

The newly appointed members are Dr. M Amjad Hossain, professor at Rajshahi University; Dr. Muhammad Shaheen Chowdhury, professor at University of Chittagong; Dr. Md. Mohiuddin, former secretary at the Ministry of Social Welfare.

The appointments were made through separate notifications issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Wednesday, (August 20).

According to the notifications, the President appointed the new members under Article 138(1) of the Constitution. Under Article 139(1), each member will serve a term of five years from the date of assuming office or until the age of 65, whichever comes first.
