Public urged avoid using Mirpur road to reach Manik Mia Avenue

Authorities have requested the public to avoid using Mirpur Road to reach Manik Mia Avenue to ensure the smooth conduct of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia’s janaza.

The advisory was issued by the Press Wing of the Chief Adviser’s Office on Wednesday morning (December 31).

Strict security measures have been deployed along Manik Mia Avenue, with police, army, RAB, APBn, and BGB personnel stationed to maintain order. Over 10,000 law enforcement members are on duty, and the entire avenue is under the control of the Special Security Force (SSF). Traffic has been completely blocked around Asad Gate to prevent disruptions.

Khaleda Zia’s janaza will be held at 2:00pm at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban, led by the Khatib of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque. She will be buried with state honours beside the grave of former President Ziaur Rahman.
