Question leaks to be detected through cyber surveillance: Education Minister
The 2026 Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations will begin on Tuesday, April 21. On the occasion, Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon briefed the media on Monday, April 20, about overall preparations and various important decisions.
The education minister said question paper leaks will be detected through cyber surveillance. Additionally, initiatives have been taken to publish results within 60 days of the exams' conclusion. To achieve this goal, the number of examiners is being increased, along with allowing sufficient time for answer script evaluation.
He also warned that to ensure transparency in answer script evaluation, examiners will be vetted through random sampling.
Pledging to restore transparency in education administration, the minister said no one involved in corruption in the education ministry will last 24 hours. He also mentioned that amendments to the Public Examinations Act of 1981 are underway.
Regarding coaching centres, Ehsanul Haque Milon said coaching centres have no recognition, and the government does not have any list of coaching centres.
The press conference also informed that an appeal has been made to the power division to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply nationwide during the examinations.
Presenting statistics for this year's examinations, the education minister said students from a total of 30,666 educational institutions across the country will participate in the SSC and equivalent examinations. The number of examinees this year is 1,857,344 across 3,885 centres. All administrative preparations have been completed to conduct the examinations in a fair and peaceful environment.
