The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has stepped up security measures across the country, including in the capital, ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.

RAB’s acting Director General, Colonel Iftekhar Ahmed, inspected security arrangements at the Sadarghat Launch Terminal on Friday (March 20), reviewing preparations to ensure smooth Eid travel.

The force said intelligence surveillance has been intensified nationwide, with additional personnel deployed at key locations. Additionally, control rooms, striking reserves, mobile and foot patrols, vehicle scanners, checkpoints, and CCTV monitoring have been strengthened.

Special security arrangements are in place at bus terminals, railway stations, launch terminals, and ferry ghats to ensure passenger safety.

Authorities also warned of strict action against ticket irregularities and fare overcharging.

Security has been reinforced at major Eid congregations, including the National Eidgah, with screening and surveillance measures in place.

RAB said patrols have been increased to prevent theft and robbery in vacant homes and workplaces during the holiday, while its cyber monitoring unit remains active to curb the spread of rumors and misinformation online.
