RAB takes special security measures across country for Eid-e-Miladunnabi
The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has taken special security measures across the country on the occasion of the holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi (pbuh). The force is working in coordination with other law enforcement agencies, the administration and intelligence agencies to ensure peaceful celebration of the religious festival.
This information was conveyed in a notification sent from RAB headquarters on Tuesday, August 25.
The notification said regular patrols by RAB have been intensified in various parts of the country. Plainclothes intelligence surveillance has also been increased and adequate personnel have been deployed. Each battalion has reviewed security risks in their respective areas and taken necessary plans. In addition to additional personnel at event venues, reserve members have been kept ready in consideration of risks.
Local mosque imams, leaders of social and civic security committees and local dignitaries have also been involved in the security activities.
Intelligence surveillance has been increased to prevent sabotage and any untoward incidents. Additionally, controversial and provocative activities are also being monitored.
RAB's bomb disposal unit and dog squad have been kept on constant alert to deal with emergencies. At the same time, cyber surveillance has been strengthened to prevent rumours, propaganda, misinformation and posts that undermine religious and communal harmony on social media.
RAB has called upon the people of the country to celebrate Eid-e-Miladunnabi in a peaceful and safe environment. Additionally, they have urged everyone to immediately inform law enforcement agencies if they notice any suspicious person, object or activity.
